yeah, this is the guy...
OK, so maybe this guy hasn't won numerous awards, or isn't a member of the prestigious 64 Club... sheesh, he cant even make that cowlick on the back of his potato shaped head lay down (those shades look good though)... but, hey, at least he takes pictures with his heart and nobody gives him grief for it. At least he is happy and his world turns steadily when he has his trusted and faithful Nikon in hand. At least his soul comes pouring thru the tiny pixels of color that are digitized and locked in a single moment of time, a slice of that moment when everything comes to a standstill. His world may be crashing down but his will survives. He may not know how to tread in the choppy waters of the rubble surrounding him, but he calmly sinks to the bottom and walks on the seabed, grasping that last precious breath of hope in his lungs... while checking a few shells on the way out in hopes of finding a pearl...
Yes... in a world where billionaires jump in front of locomotives, this penniless guy survives one day at a time by looking for the color in grey taffeta, or at least the shimmer when seen from a different angle.
So if you see something in these images that moves You to hold on onto your last precious breath of hope, rest assured it moved him as well. If they capture you in that standstill of time, its because you are seeing it through his eyes and heart. So go ahead, buy a copy of the image and hang it on a wall in your home, office, garage, outhouse... wherever. It may help you survive the next day in the prison of your grief, or help you face the battle with your Goliath, or give you the energy to crawl out of the next deep mud-pit you fall in.
